A First Stop at 66 Chambers, Singapore

Honestly, prior to this, I had not stepped in to a bar proper. Not even for a drink. I did not see the need then, and the last time I actually stepped into one (not for work), was back in the very early 2000s, when I was still an undergrad. It literally just happened that I was giving another shibari talk in another bar nearby plus an invitation to share/teach shibari in 66 Chambers, that I decided to pop by to have a look.

66 Chambers is a kinki inspired bar. It isn’t kink per se. The decor is kink inspired, very much like your comics cafe store is inspired by DC or Marvel or whatever. It draws in the targetted crowd easier, that’s about how I saw it. (Less their monthly sold out event Sins and Seduction, as of writing into their 6th edition). The crowd is more comfortable with kink I supposed. Given floggers, whips, cages, mask, etc are all around the bar, and I saw some very chaty group there. Honestly, I should feel damn at home there. But I am a bar virgin again, and basically really do not do well when I am in a social setting with strangers. I will just cower to one corner and hide with my drinks in hand.

Anyways, that night was not so packed, the bartenders are kinda cute and pretty nice to me. Yes, the guy is also cute, but I am just not attracted to men. Had my bottom Nawabunny to look see with me and decided, why not just have an impromptu tie and play there.. Not bad.

Given that, I am now conducting introductory shibari classes at 66 Chambers regularly – usually on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Do contact 66 Chambers on their IG if you wanna learn in an open, safe group settings.
